As representative examples of his experience, Mr. Crompton has:

• Obtained judgment for the author and national publishers of a best-selling non-fiction novel in a defamation suit brought by the subject of the novel. The judgment was affirmed on appeal.

• Counseled television and radio broadcasters and a national periodical publisher on defamation and privacy issues. Reviewed scripts, stories and video for defamation and invasion of privacy liability issues.

• Obtained judgment for an employer against wrongful discharge and defamation claims brought by a former employee concerning remarks contained in the employee's personnel file.

• Represented a maker of railroad parts in a wrongful death claim arising out of a railroad derailment. Obtained a favorable settlement in a jurisdiction known for very high personal injury verdicts.

• Obtained a jury verdict for a commercial realtor for payment of commissions disputed in the sale of a large industrial property.

• Regularly counsels corporate clients on whether public statements and private correspondence pose a liability risk.
